Genre is the kinds of writing we are using to communicate to a certain audience. I explored the different type of genres through the venous different assignments that have a different type of template and writing styles. For instance, we were some of the first to do a PSA, in which as a group we had to bring awareness towards a sustainability issue that is affecting people. My team and I decided to bring awareness on the effects pollution of plastic bottles has on New York with the use of a PSA. Instead of writing, we had to make a video that would loop in order to people who come across the PSA will be able to interact with it and spread awareness. Making sure that with in these 45 seconds of the PSA, we are able to incorporate as much information necessary to have the audience well informed about the issue of pollution and be able to take action by recycling. In figure one, we see one of the clips of my PSA that I worked with my partners, and it demonstrates the positive effects of recycling, from reducing waste to cost saving. By providing them in bullet points, it makes it easier for the reader to watch and understand the key points of the clips, instead of just reading a whole block of text in the short amount of time. The incorporation of images is also necessary in order to get a visual of what we are talking about, too also make it easier for the audience to understand.
